MV Kota Kado

On 29th June the KOTA KADO was travelling from  Nansha to Singapore it struck a submerged object. The containership, with 22 crew on board, suffered severe damage as a result. She began to take on sea water into her tanks as well as hold numbers 2 and 3.  As it was feared the vessel might sink and  the decision was taken to deliberately ground the vessel in waters off Hong Kong. Svitzer Salvage was contracted for the salvage operations, DISA International was subsequently engaged  to provide personnel.
